Spendi spandi e/offendi is a talk-show through which Falsi Magri(tte) promotes the Festival Ceci n’est past un blasphème by telling stories of blasphemy, or religious censorship on art.The approach of the event is a playful one, somewhat satiric, although the main goal is shifting the focus of the audience from all the fuss over the alleged provocation of the artists, to the responsibility of the general public’s reaction: did they manage to shape a critical and rational opinion of their own, before appealing for censorship and repression? With the help of images and short clips, this two-voice talk (with Emanuela Marmo, art director of Ceci n’est past un blasphème, and Rosaria Carifano, journalist and FM communication manager) is a cinematic journey which retraces various cases of religious censorship, in hopes of undermining – hopefully together and with a hint of irony – all the tropes and stereotypes that somehow justify it.
