Plot: Giulia takes piano lessons for an important concert, her debut performing Ludwig Van Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’ No.14. Her days are marked by meticulous practice, a maniacal routine, and constant pressure, embodied and reinforced by her teacher and mentor. He encourages Giulia to give her best with consistency and dedication, to strive even harder, emphasizing her imperfections, remaining faithful to his rigorous teaching method. This struggle against the slightest flaw in execution shows, on one hand, Giulia’s extraordinary strength of spirit, motivated by her attachment to music. On the other hand, it reveals a vulnerability that makes her unwell and prompts her to hide herself rather than fully experience her hard work. Deep down, Giulia wants to sing, but her shyness holds her back. Her journey evolves from the discomfort of thinking that she’s superficially judged by her teacher, to the challenging psycho-emotional impact on her life, until she experience the need to bring forth her own voice as an authentic reflection of her being. She succeeds in this endeavor thanks to that rough and aggressive teacher who, nonetheless, manages to discern her hidden desire.
