Plot: The announcement of a fatal illness takes Irma to Greece, the kingdom of clarity, where she follows a journey dictated by the god Apollo and guided by the respective sacred places. Some twenty years later, Irma revisits this Apollonian journey. Between João Miguel Fernandes Jorge’s short story (based on a personal testimony of that journey) and the director’s experience, “Fuck the Polis” takes us to the Greek islands, between voices and seas, stones and dances, winds and temples, ruins and corroded gods… It is a film about a deep connection to the world, about a profound attempt to see the world around us, when history coexists with the present, our memories and our subjective feelings dance with the objectivity of the reality that surrounds us.
