Plot: A soldier who died in the First World War. A photographer who, over a hundred years later, finds his autograph diary and decides to follow his trail from Avellino to the Carso. Both have the same name: Eugenio Barzaghi. Both are looking for the “Hell’s Mouth”: a trench with a frightening name that seems to be the only possible point of their meeting.
