Plot: Naples, where he lives in a cramped basement flat in Pianura with his large family and where he rushes around every day to carve out a space for himself; and São Vicente, which he was forced to leave as a child and of which he cherishes precious memories: the land eternally beaten by the wind; running in the streets at midday; the Carnival of feathers and black men where everyone can choose who they want to be. He dreams of returning to mend the rift between the different pieces that fragment him – “1/4 Cape Verde and 3/4 Italy” even without citizenship – but the renewal of his residence permit is an endless wait.Then, finally, the journey to his origins takes place. Amidst stray dogs and oxen that wanted to be free, marine and terrestrial wrecks and nostalgia, it will prove to be a return to an island that no longer exists, until a new metamorphosis.
