This is part of the special event for the release of “Napoli Magica“, the latest film by @damoremarco, in which he asks himself why Naples is said to be magical, and then he sets out in search of this magic.

Plot: What are you looking for in Naples when you have always lived there or when you visit it for the first time? Why is the soul of this place so different from that of other towns? Where’s the magic? Marco D’Amore is ready to discover it in the only way possible: to find the unexpected enchantment, he must wander through the city and get lost. He needs to dig the tuff stone of the town’s foundations to unearth all its mysteries and legends, its spirits, ancient voices, ghosts, and myths. The maze of thousand-years old tunnels serves as a grave for secrets the entire city rests on. And then, from reality we move on to the fairy-tale: in Napoli Magica, the iconic landmarks – the Fontanelle cemetery, Castel dell’Ovo, the Chapel of the Veiled Christ, the Catacombs of San Gaudioso – come to life while the faces in the streets oppose all the characters of the Myth (Parthenope the Siren, the «Munaciello», Pulcinella). In this journey, the city takes on new shapes triggering mixed feelings, in a never-ending game of opposites. Naples is a kind of gaze or an infinite series of points of view, as if observed from the heights of the hills all around or from its underground passages and, finally, through the eyes of all the souls which inhabit the city, be it aboveground or down in the caves. Napoli Magica creates a special familiarity with mystery, waiting for answers that oracles never revealed.
