Visual live by GIANLUCA ABBATE The music of Alessandro D’Alessandro, a contemporary popular psychedelia, in which the sound of roots mixes with electronics, original writing and the continuous research of sounds. He has developed his “organetto preparato” over years of work and study, always relating to the most various worlds. In VisionAria all these aspects will be projected within the images which, in their nature, can’t be confined to a single story; they are, instead, objects open to multiple interpretations. When faced with the most complex images – observed, analysed and narrated countless times – it might be useful to adopt a different approach. Leaving behind, even momentarily, the perspective of those who came before us and observing them through a personal lens, our own eyes, could reveal unexplored and meaningful stories for ourselves. The video projections by Gianluca Abbate that will accompany the music and sounds of Alessandro D’Alessandro aim to bring together different eras and styles. The visual live performances will develop narratively throughout the show. This will be made possible thanks to the adoption of different techniques ranging from cut-out to animated collage. The combination of tradition and modernity, in accordance with the music – with the use of computer graphics, live footage, scenes from other films, archive images, mixing colours and black&white – will give life to the visual storytelling. VisionAria is Air and Images National premiere for the Laceno d’Oro International Film Festival.
