Exhibition – Pasolini & Rea’s Laceno d’Oro

Cinema Partenio | Circolo della stampa | 30/11 – 3/12

“Il Laceno d’Oro di Pasolini e Rea” (Pasolini & Rea’s Laceno d’Oro) is the title of the photo-documentary exhibition designed and curated by film historian Paolo Speranza, editor at “CinemaSud”.

With 15 panels of various sizes, the iconographic path of the exhibition seeks to retrace (through rare and exclusive images from the archives of “CinemaSud”, which made them voluntarily available for the festival) the crucial cultural impact the two renowned writers had on the International Festival of Neorealism – founded and directed by Camillo Marino and Giacomo d’Onofrio and currently promoted by Circolo ImmaginAzione.
In fact, Pier Paolo Pasolini was an active supporter of Laceno d’Oro, while Domenico Rea was the festival’s president from 1966 to 1970, when the festival was most acclaimed by both critics and public.

“Seen the contiguity of two important anniversaries, the centenary of Rea’s birth in 2021 and that of Pasolini in 2022, Laceno d’Oro has decided to link two exhibitions to give a sense of continuity, highlighting their commitment to promote cinema in South Italy”, explains festival’s curator.

The exhibition will be on display for visitors at Cinema Partenio and Circolo della Stampa (Avellino) from November 30 to December 3, and from December 27 to January,7.
